According to the American Diabetes Association, Diabetes is one the leading diseases that is taking over the African-American population.  If you're diabetic, pre-diabetic, or just a lover of sweets, but are needing alternatives to those fattening ingredients, these tips will help you to control and prevent diabetes.   • Crustless or Sugar-free crust

  • Graham cracker crust

  • Whole wheat flour

  • Oat crust

  • Almond flour crust

  • Pecan crust

  • Coconut or coconut flour crust

Sugar sub:

  • Splenda

  • Agave Syrup

  • Honey

  • Stevia

Other Ingredients:

  • Almond or Cashew Milk

  • Spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, Allspice, star anise, clove arrow root, cardamom, cocoa bean

  • Fresh or frozen fruit (If using canned fruit, use fruit that's in water, 100% juice with no added sugar)
