Popcorn is a whole grain that is meant to be a healthy snack. It only becomes unhealthy when salt and trans fats like salted butter is added. Try this 'Spicy' popcorn without all the added unhealthy fats!
1 tablespoon chili oil
2 tsp. grapeseed oil
1/2 cup popping corn
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. cumin
1. Heat chili oil and grapeseed oil in a medium cast iron skillet over medium heat
2. Add a few popcorn kernels and let it heat up. When one kernel pops, add the popcorn kernels and cover the skillet. Shake the pan a little to spread the kernels in an even layer. Let the kernels pop for several minutes until the pan is full and the popping slows down.
3. While the kernels pop, stir together the melted unsalted butter, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Remove the popped popcorn from heat and transfer into a large bowl. Slowly sprinkle the unsalted butter/spice mixture onto the popcorn and shake to distribute.
